How to Make Cold Brew Coffee
First thing’s first: cold brew coffee is not iced coffee. It’s brewed with cold water instead of hot water and must be steeped overnight. Making cold brew coffee requires a bit of patience, but we promise it’s worth it for a smoother, sweeter coffee. Follow these simple steps for a batch you’ll want to brew again and again.
LET'S MAKE IT
What You’ll Need:
- 2 Pitchers
- Measuring Cup
- 1 Cup Folgers® Coffee Grounds
- 5 Cups Distilled or Filtered Water
- Large Spoon
- Strainer
- Cheesecloth or Coffee Filter
Brew Time: 7 Minutes
1. MEASURE & MIX
Add 1 cup of Folgers® ground coffee to a pitcher and stir in 5 cups of water.
2. CHILL & STRI
Refrigerate the mixture for at least 12 hours. Then remove it from the fridge and stir.
3. REMOVE GROUNDS
Line a strainer with cheesecloth. (If you don’t have a cheesecloth, a coffee filter will work just fine.) Pour the coffee mixture through the cheesecloth and strainer into a separate pitcher.
4. DILUTE IT
Cold brew coffee is more concentrated than other coffee. For the recommended cold brew ratio, stir in another 1½ cups of water. Serve and enjoy.
