Our family knows that our sons will continue working on our coffee farm for years to come. We see a difference with what we did before and what we are doing now with the project’s help.

The Duarte Ordoñez Family

Gregorio Duarte and his wife, Estela, are enthusiastic about what they have learned from the Better Coffee Harvest Project. They take turns participating in the project training, and together they have not missed a single training since starting them in early 2015. They started planting two healthy coffee tree varieties, and also learned how to improve the health of their older trees to increase their vigor and help protect them from disease. According to Gregorio, he is happy that the project is integrating women: “It is good that they participate in this; they need to learn how to do things correctly so that if their male family members are doing things incorrectly, they can correct us.”
